Despite what all American media can said there's must be some positive effect, direct or collateral, of trump policy.

I'm not American and I have trouble to figure out something positive for the people at who he preach to make America great again.

Otherwise, while being at the other side of the border I can see many positive effect for other country.
Canada will get out winning of this craziness. It's sure it's hard to figure out how it will be in 1 or 2 year.
But for now, Canada expect receiving more tourist. Just before Trump Canada had already lax the visa requirement for Mexican, with the addition of Trump, his wall and his anti-immigrant stance Canada is expecting a sizeable grow of tourist. Company are adding plane route to Canada.

On the business side a group of 200 Canadian businessman (with investment in US) in technology have write a letter of concern to the Canadian Prime Minister about the immigration ban of Trump. They ask him to be ready as the might need to search a better ground for doing international business that required international talent. US just discredited himself.
I'm not expecting a large mass of movement, but I expect some business will cross back the north border to their origin.

Still in Business we have the NAFTA (which I'm more familiar with its french translation ALENA).
A renegotiation of it will change almost nothing for the Canada, nothing to lose nothing to gain.
For Mexico it's another story.
I'm not sure of how much dealing the NAFTA can really bring back job in America, certainly a few.
But the more job will be back on American ground the more we can expect to have price inflation to the related product and relative market.

Overall I think Mexico will get out not so bad of it and American will pay more tax on product crossing the border.

More internationally,
Europe finally find their common enemy (Trump openly talk negatively about the euro zone) and we can hope they will -sorry for the expression- put their shit together and finally create a similitude of unity.

Trump contain way to much uncertainty and is clearly ready to declare war with everyone... Nobody are seating and waiting trump blow up and they are searching new economical partner.
Australia have tell his interest to have a TPP minus one... we will need to see how it will goes on.

What are you observation about positive thing Trump is bringing into this world?

Well, he's galvanizing the Left, that's for sure.

I haven't seen it yet (much too early in his presidency), but if Trump delivers on his infrastructure promises, that will be a great boon to the US.

I agree with you for now it's way too much early to know how thing will really turn out in the future (anyway, we never really know!).

It's most of all about "feeling" on how it could turn out with plenty of "if".

If he delivers on a lot of his promises you can bet he will be delivering a big addition to the Federal debt. I can see Trump doing this because he will think, what the hell, let someone else deal with it. I won't be around in office to worry about it.

True, but he can run up the debt a lot of ways. I'd rather see the money allocated to infrastructure than to pointless military build-up, for example. At least he'd be leaving something good behind to go with the debt.

Of course, it remains to be seen what will happen with his infrastructure promises. I'm not optimistic. But I'd love to be wrong.

Mexico has a trade surplus with the US, so obviously has much more to lose.

Haha. I doubt it. There is no unity in Europe. Big support for Trump-like policies in many countries, including the UK, France, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Germany.

I think it would be MUCH easier for Europe to unite as a sort of social democratic wonderland if there was no migrant crisis. A lot of the 'post-war' consensus has come under strain due to the effects of integrating immigrants from other cultures.

Thus there cannot really be unity. The UK is leaving the EU which does not seem to me like a positive sign for unity in Europe. Maybe others will follow. I don't see that there will ever be a consensus for policies like those of Merkel.

I think that mostly Trump can behave like an oaf and get away with it because he runs the richest country in the world with a GDP greater than the entire EU (even before the UK leaves). So I see other countries on eggshells a little.

I am not sure there is so much positive for the world about it. But I think America will get richer.

He intend to spend in:
- Infrastructure
- Pointless military build-up (for play at who-have-the-bigger-one with Putin)
- Pointless wall

I have also no doubt about it.
This is why in my OP i have mentioned "for the people" or if you like for the mass to who he promise more job and more money.

The top 1% will get way more rich I have no doubt about it.

What and HOW for the bottom 75%?

I don't see any positive effect in a more unified Europe or so. On the contrary, the whole thing seems rather polarizing if I read newspapers and reactions over here. (E.g. Pro and contra Merkel's policy.) Many diverse reactions on The May/Trump meeting. And see what happens in the French presidential election.

That's sad!

Do you thing it have a chance after the France election the europe try to reinforce their solidarity or it will be the same fight were everyone try to pull the blanket on his side?
Or it will depend of who will win the election?

Uh.....it makes for more interesting news

The sky will probably not fall, but there is a shift happening and depending on one's ideological orientation it is not all negative.
I read Iran recently tested a medium range ballistic missile with death to Israel on the side.....maybe they should express how they really feel. Also, part of the Sunni/Shia conflict/Middle East. Iran/Syria etc. Shia vs Sunni. Maybe in some areas tough leadership could help?

They should try to make it into the 1%, that way we will have huge 1%. Like 50%.
How's my math, guys?

That is one of the better ideas I have heard. Yes if enough make it into the 1% we could have like 50%, or more, in the 1%. Ha ha ha.

That's for sure, the news are way less boring!

But still... the insipidity of the morning comment of trump start to be boring to follow up.
News don't even mention them anymore

They better hurry up to move into this 1%

This morning I wake up with 2 news:
- The congress vote a law for allow mentally ill person to access gun, because, you know, their is no proof they could be dangerous!!!
- Trump will ask for the Dodd-Frank law and the Volcker rule can be abrogated. Those are the two law created in the aftermath of the financial crisis of 2008 (when the house market fall down and pull down with him the whole economy with world wide effect).

As this tread is called the "positive effect"... let be positive!
It should take something like 10 year for create a new financial bubble, it mean it will explode way after the SECOND mandate of Trump.

He's a great advert for propecia, the hair growing drug that yesterday his personal physician disclosed he takes...

The only positive effect I can accept is the attractiveness of his wife. However, as she's an immigrant....

Now this is a positive effect...

Of course other countries (as Belgium, Denmark and Germany) followed the example...
