That doesn't sound like fun. Where were you when you got bitten? We don't really get many interesting critters around the house these days, except for those strange crickets that the missus say bite.
I used to breed crickets as food for a bearded dragon (I know what you're thinking but no, it's got 4 legs…. haha) & I was never bitten by a cricket or the bearded dragon.
This latest incident happened while asleep in my own bed, it's been a bit of an ongoing saga after moving to a new rental property about 3 months ago. At first after being stung we had to be extra vigilant against mosquitos.
Then I was attacked by what we at first thought were very small mosquitos getting through the flyscreen but turned out to be man-eating gnats coming from the bathroom floor waste (they only went for sweet ol' me), what made this worse was that at the same time I was suffering my only ever bout of heat rash.
Now, out of the blue & after a couple of days rain we, I mean I, have been attacked yet again by something as yet unknown despite fumigating, closing doors after sundown, burning mosquito coils, applying repellent & eating abnormal amounts of garlic.
At first due to the severity of the stings / bites I thought it may have been the small jumping spiders that I've seen around the place but after a bit of research it seems highly unlikely because spiders don't feed on blood & just don't do that kind of thing anyway. I'm now thinking it's some different kind of resistant mosquito, anyone got any ideas about what I may be up against?
Yesterday in my desperation I finally put a hook in the ceiling, hung the mosquito net as well as all previous precautions & seem to have gotten through the night without suffering further assault.
…... & I haven't even mentioned the 2 larger variety of pest around here like the rat that tried to climb my leg after I surprised it in the middle of the night; ratdog took care of that bastard …. then there's our new landlord, a benign pest but that's another story.
