I be been badgered several times by a couple of mates to take up parachuting, I see know fun in jumping out of a perfectly Serviceable aeroplane with a parachute that's may or may not open, but I'm quite stunned that someone would jump from 25,000ft without a parachute into a net, quite impressive really, but I wonder what reaction of the crowd would be if he had missed the net.

I guess I'm a stick in the mud, but it appalls me that someone with a four-year-old son would do this. Kind of like the guy who died on the Everest climb while his girlfriend was pregnant. C'mon people - if you want to do stuff like that, be my guest, but DON'T do it when you have little kids to care for.

I agree Puspawarna, I see no point what so ever, could claim an entry into the Guiness book of records as the most stupidest stunt ever

I wouldn't want to watch that live, as I don't want to see anyone go splat.

I'd be worried about him going splat on me. Seems like a potentially dangerous spectator sport.

I'm surprised he could carry out this stunt, it's a free country I know, but what if he landed in the crowd, I'm surprised the FAA or whoever let him do it

I wonder if such people are insurable.

The worse part being perhaps that both the kid and the mother were among the spectators.

Some people do whatever for adrenaline rush. For me, nyebrang jalan across most Jakarta's traffic is enough for a rush!

I have done parachuting. Seeing as I suffer from extreme vertigo and am terrified of flying, it was no mean trick to get me up there. I wonder if the fact that my boyfriend at the time was the leader of the army parachuting display team had anything to do with it? It was fun, but on my first jump:

Due to a physical malfunction... extremely short arms that couldn't reach the directional toggles on either side of the parachute! (believe it or not, this is the only part that you can't be trained for because the parachutes are already packed!)... I landed a long way from the designated landing zone. It was a long lonely walk back!! Taking this into consideration, I don't think the landing in a net idea is for me!!

If I had a choice, I'd probably rather parachute or free-fall into a net rather than crawl up beyond vertical cliffs relying on over-sized nails jammed into rocks.... What's with those people?

When I was in the RAF we thought it would be a good thing to go rock climbing, so a gang of us with some waafs, hired a RAF coach(no charge) and went off to Ilkely moor, but we really didn't have much enthusiasm for it, it seemed a bit dodgy, so we spent most of the time in a great pub in Ilkely,
