I'm in a bit of a quandary- every time I go out I ride past a guy at the side of the road with between 4 or 6 smallish cages piled up...
In these cages he has a monkey, civets and assorted other wildlife.

So what to do- I feel saddened and angered for the animals, however I am no expert in how to care for them so I cannot go purchase them from him- nor would I wish to either, as this just feeds the cycle.

I doubt reporting to the cops would do anything other than make me a target.

Ideas?

Take photos on the pretext you're interested in buying something and then look them up on line to see if any of them are endangered or protected species. even if just one of them is, that's grounds to grass him up to the police.

It's like when you see the Dancing monkeys here, a chap attempted to buy the monkeys but the monkey man said it was his living and wouldn't sell, so I expect, sadly, the man you saw BA has no other means of income, but if they carry on like this there will be no wildlife left, plus the people who buy these animals don't look after them and they soon die, but hard as it sounds it should be reported to the police, whether they do anything, who knows, but I wonder if there is a wildlife agency who might be more useful, they would know what to do with the animals
