Australia and New Zealand visitor visas for Indonesians

On the way back to the US this summer, I found a nice fare out of New Zealand. So I decide to book stays for us in New Zealand and Australia.

The online process for Australia seems relatively easy. Took me 20-25 minutes to fill out online. $140 AUD fee

New Zealand on the other hand, is way more convoluted. They have a huge file on just how to shoot your picture for the visa. They don’t like the picture we used for Schengen visa. No colored backgrounds. No white backgrounds. Only off gray.

You are talking about for Indonesians I presume? Since most passport holders get VOA in Australia, electronic visa already applied for before arrival or even at the checkin depending on departure city and nationality

Are you asking or just stating? Visas for Indoensians can be complicated. I have seen dubious girls obtain visas and I have seen educated, married ladies denied.

Did it change? I remember my wife didn’t need a visa for NZ with her Oz visa. But that was more than 1,5 decade ago.

Luckily US and Schengen Visa etc. have become a formality for her. Even via the VFS (Kuningan agent) which has taken over from the Consulate of many countries.

Most Indonesians get VOA in Australia? Not that I can see online.

US, and many other nationalities certainly can, but not what the title to this thread is referring to.

I asked if he was referring to Indonesians needing a visa as most other passport holders can get a visa online (I think its free too)

Ok technically it is the thread topic title but 1) who bothers to ever read that and 2) anyway it doesn't harm to make sure what the OP is referring too

3 days and already got the approval for Australia. Everything done online.

Still have to deliver the passport for New Zealand, to the office in Jakarta.
