Annoying Ads on the site.

I understand that this forum needs money to survive but the latest ads that popup from the bottom are extremely annoying. Does anyone else think this or is it just accepted as the price to pay to use the site? For me on a laptop between the bottom and top ads i now lose about a third my screen.

I don't see the ads you are talking about. Maybe the settings of your web browser (Google/Crome --> advertising privacy) allow the ads to pop up. Or better: do a scan and check for unwanted software or malware on your laptop. Or click on 'Ad option' of the ad itself.

Never seen that ad - it would annoy me. I use chrome with an adblocker so maybe thats how I avoid it.

If using Chrome try this / 3 vertical dots at top right / scroll down to settings / in the panel on the left hit Privacy & security / select ..Clear browsing data, Cookies & More / at the top where it says "Time Range" select "All time", then hit "Clear data ....that should remedy the problem ..... if using a different browser the process should be similar, Cookies is what you are looking to clear

Yes, some weird one about facebook all the time but only when I use mobile
On the laptopdancer no, chrome or edge is both ok

Only recently
annoying because the box is over the new post click so have to scroll up and down or find the tiny X to close it then after click new comments it pop ups again

A word of caution before following these instructions. Make sure you have your email and password for any site you were using previously as including this one as after completing the instructions above you have to log in to sites which previously opened automatically. My email has changed a few times from when I first joined some sites and then have problems re-entering. This happened some while ago when I found I could not open my Wise account. Wasted hours trying to get Wise to help deal with the problem and only resolved when by chance I found my former email and password in a notebook.

It seems whenever I have a computer problem and follow instructions how to fix it I finish up with more problems than I started with
