Hi,

Here is a really good book to learn proper Bahasa Indonesia from scratch: useful and usable Bahasa Indonesia from Amazon

It has a kindle ebook version with the same title.

Have a look. I found the contents awesome.

Good luck with your learning Bahasa Indonesia

For learning a new language (at least vocabulary), I find the software "Anki" quite helpful, it is freeware. It works similar to learning by using index cards. But what I like about the software is that the software will repeat the words that you find difficult to learn/remember more often than words you already knew from the first time or did not have such problems remembering after a few trials. And you can use card decks that other people already developed and shared so that you do not need to create your own index card staple.

Anki is a fantastic software., indeed We have created over one thousand voice-supported Anki flashcards: https://indonesian-online.com/anki-flashcards/

I have used your course in 2012, and can confirm thaat it is the best source for learning Bahasa Indonesia. After a few lessons, exposed to in Indonesian surrounding, one is able to start communicating. Audio files, and the mix of formal and informal in the program is also a great thing. At that time the course was free, now is around 90 USD or something.

Used the Anki cards too, a quite good tool.

Thank you. yes, initially it was free, but that became unsustainable, especially as we're constantly working on improving the course, incorporating new technologies etc. The membership to the 113 lesson-strong beginner course The Indonesian Way now costs USD 90, and the membership to Indonesian Online, which includes over 300 lessons from the elementary to the most advanced levels costs $195.

Is there an option, before any subscription, to have a (limited) look around in this Anki?

I see one can use Wise to transfer the money, but I don't see any bank account number?

Is the advanced level 129 dollars valid for 3 or 5 years? Mixed messages.

We accept credit card payment, or transfer to our bank accounts in Europe, and Indonesia (account details are provided on request). We also accept PayPal payments. The package of all advanced level courses is valid for five years:

Does one need to pay to remove the "403 Forbidden" notice? :ROFLMAO: :wall:

Download the Duolingo app to your devices...it's FREE, it's modern, it's gamified.

No sketchy "professors of Indonesian" to deal with. (y)
Uli Kozok is probaly the most qualified non-Indonesian person for Indonesian language in the world. If you are penny- pitching for 90 USD, let it be. You can also share Netflix passwords with your friends.

He also made the research on Batak language as well.

I agree. However I don't see a (EUR) bank account number to transfer money to?

Where do you see the 403 forbidden error? I don't see it.

Duolingo. Yes, I occasionally use it myself to learn Italian, but it really is not much more than a vocabulary and sentence learning tool. After a while, it gets boring because it is monotonous. It is not a substitute for a real course in Indonesian, which should provide a wide range of diverse media including reading and listening texts, interactive exercises, and of course also cultural and linguistic notes, and grammar explanations – all that is missing in Duolingo. Besides, Duolingo only caters to beginners.

And what makes you doubt that I am professor for the Indonesian language? Just look at the website of the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Fact-checking is a simple step and should always be conducted before jumping to assumptions.

  1. The phrase is "penny pinching".
  2. We don't use Netflix.
  3. We don't share.
  4. We don't have friends.
  5. Uli Kozok, PhD, is well qualified.
  6. Goodbye.
