Where can I find how long it is going to take to convert to a KITAP after obtaining a KITAS? Is this possible just after 1 year KITAS or what? Thanks
Some Mr ABC's immigration history: (for example)It is possible to convert after a one year Kitas, provided you are married to an Indonesian, are on a spouse sponsored Kitas, and the marriage has been registered in Indonesia for at least two years. I applied for conversion after holding my first Kitas for less than one month. Actual time from Kitas to Kitap depends on many factors, including public holidays, but the quickest I've heard of is just over two months. My own process took around three months, in line with the estimate provided by immigration in Bali.
Ok so a spouse sponsored KITAS is after 1 year.
What about a work sponsored KITAS?
What about a child joining a WNI mother sponsored KITAS?
How long are those?
I was able to apply for my spouse sponsored Kitap conversion less than one month after receiving my first spouse sponsored Kitas. Could have done it sooner had I really wanted to so, at least in Bali, you don't have to wait til two months before your Kitas expires. For a spouse sponsored KITAS to KITAP, you can apply roughly 2 months before your KITAS expires. My wife and I did ours this past October and we received everything back the week before Christmas so roughly 2 months. It had been approved at the end of November, but taking the various documents from one office to another plus the wait time in between is why it took us so long to get it.
