Very Few Jobs in the Future or Worse Due to AI

Bill Gates’s warnings regarding the threat of uncontrollable AI and widespread job displacement are already widely known, as are discussions surrounding the regulatory power of global governments ...
More opinions from knowledgeable people is better , in my view (no matter if already told or known by other people) .

Also, Bill Gates is neither a labour economist nor a human geographer. Typically, sensible governments weigh arguments from both perspectives ...
All available/possible perspectives should be considered , not only 2 .

When I mentioned that sensible governments consider both sides of an issue, I did not mean they rely solely on labour economists or human geographers. Rather, governments weigh the pros and cons, giving greater weight to experts specialised in the relevant domain.

AI experts and scientists have already published their papers. It's the conscensus that we're either headed for a utopia with abundance, no diseases, etc. Or total annihilation.

To compare the AI revolution to previous industrial or technological revolutions is completely missing the point: human beings used to be the most intelligent ones and were required to build these new techs. Today, AI is the smarter one and soon enough humans will simply not be required anymore.

The only brakes (and I say brakes, not walls) to AI development today is energy availability. Electricity infrastructure cannot be built fast enough, there aren't enough electricians, etc. This will also be overcome by AI eventually. We don't understand the solution, we can't even envision it. Soon enough, we will be to AI what ants are to us.

The technological advancement with AI is exponential and we are now at the point in the curve where it's about to go vertical.

There is nothing we can do to stop it. History has taught us that when new tech and new money comes along, we, as a human species, are unable to limit ourselves. That's why we have so much pollution, climate change, social media, tik tok bullshit frying our childrens' brains, that we are 30 seconds to midnight on the nuclear total annihilation.

AI is the same, it's an arms race, slowing down is giving up to an adversary. The money, stakes and existential threat is such, that the only way forward is to be the first to control this tech, until it becomes itself uncontrollable. At which point, game over.

Very reassuring. I feel so much better now.

Hopefully Vladimir invading a Baltic state or Xi attacking Taiwan or an Iranian or North Korean missile going of course and hitting the airport in Dubai or Japan where we are waiting for our connecting flight, will kill us first.
