No, not Indonesia, I found that some years ago - I'm thinking more of Shakespeare, or at least his plays.
Anyone heard of any of Willy's stuff being performed anywhere near Jakarta?

Yes, I'm a boring fart that likes stuff like that - and I go to art exhibitions

I watched Macbeth on the box the other day, my daughter speaks quite good English, but was totally lost with the English, so had to translate and explain the plot, I wonder how Indonesian audiences would cope if the plays were in English, but I have to say Fred never ever hear of any or Shakespeare’s plays being done here, I did see once Erasmus house doing works of Goethe, so perhaps , they might do Shakespeare

The British council did some a couple of years ago but I wasn't able to attend at that time. I'm hoping some cultured bugger like wot I am will have some ideas.
Long shot.
Failing that, I'll have to stick to art stuff - I get VIP passes to the exhibitions those days because I'm proper posh like.

I haven't seen much Shakespeare performed, and never in Indonesia. But even in my limited experience - it is transformative to see it on stage! It's one thing to slog through the words on the page, where it can be puzzling. But seeing it performed? Suddenly, it all makes sense.

I think the Briitish council have something on April 14 as it’s his 400 anniversary, check their web site, < shakspearlive@myclass jakarta-britishcouncilindonesiafoundation> try that, it’s free
