KITAS to KITAP conversion in the new evisa system

NO . The 10,500,000rp is for the Kitas to Kitap conversion if done yourself , which is a 5 year Kitap 7,000,000rp and a 5year Merp 3,500,000rp . An agent might charge you 5 times that . So 5 x 10,500,000rp = 52,000,000rp .
As far as I know , the above (although similar value) is not the most usual way some agents charge . For example , Shadrach was paying Rp9 million for 1 year KITAS (which was not 5 x the total official KITAS fee) , so if he wants a 5 years KITAP , the agent may charge him around 5 times what he/she charged for 1 year KITAS (or around 5 x Rp9 million = Rp45 million) .

I paid 35 or 40 million 3 years ago for 5 year retirement KITAP.
A guy I know who is nearing the end of his 5 year retirement KITAP was quoted 90 million for the permanent retirement KITAP.
As he us around 70 it's a bit of a gamble...
Live 10 years more and it's worth it. Pass after 3 years...hmmm..hmmm (not that you care as you're dead).
Meanwhile he married a few years ago, so he decided to restart from zero with a yearly spouse visa.
I will have the same dilemma end 2026. Still time to think about it.

Seems to be a lot of variation in agent fees depending on where your from , what part of Indonesia your moving to , what type of Kitas / Kitap , where the agent is based etc etc . One well known agent quotes Rp52 to Rp59million for the Kias to Kitap conversion depending on Kitap type while others are lower and higher . I used an Indonesian/Surabaya based agent because I was moving to Java for the initial Spouse sponsored Itas /Kitas , Rp25million . A friend who moved to Bali used an Australian agent with a office in Renon/Denpasar , Rp15million. . And I had to do a lot of the leg work as the agent wouldn't travel from Surabaya to where I was living in S/East Java to arrange required paperwork at local offices .

In my view , online process benefits most of us , but not Immigration employees . I myself would prefer to check paper documents instead of documents in a computer display .
After doing the first Kitas there is essentially no leg work if you made enough copies.

They always request the exact same documents each time with the additional letter saying you're still married when converting to Kitap. Tbh Kitas renewal was the easiest thing and took 3-4 days when not around a holiday.

I still don't quite understand why they still ask for the Affidavit from before we were married but it's still part of the paperwork.

The biggest benefit to me for it being online is that since the documents basically all stay the same except the SKTT and previous years Kitas, I can just keep them on my computer. And both of those are emailed from the office anyway.

Wife got the customer service from Ditjen to respond to her as well and the gave her a different answer:

"Untuk verifikasi permohonan alih status di Ditjen Imigrasi memakan waktu 3-5 hari kerja. Sebelum permohonan diteruskan ke Ditjen Imigrasi, permohonan akan diperiksa di Kantor Imigrasi yg menerbitkan ITAS.

Proses verifikasi dapat memakan waktu lebih lama jika dokumen persyaratan tidak sesuai atau tidak lengkap, sehingga permohonan harus ditunda (pending)."

Meaning I should have my Kitap either Friday or after the week long holiday 🤣

Before the application is forwarded to the Directorate General of Immigration, the application will be checked at the Immigration Office that issued the ITAS..."
This Immigration information reveals that the way a process is checked/approved is duplicated : first each city's Kantor Imigrasi needs to check/approve , then later the Jakarta's Directorate does the final check/approval .

With the online system I thought the processes would be standardized (by being checked/approved just once by Jakarta's Directorate) and not depend on different requests from each city's Immigration , but I was wrong .

I think depending where you live determines which Director Generals Office it goes to . I'm in South East Java , Banyuwngi area . I had to submit all my Kitas renewals , Conversion to Kitap applications at the Jember Immigration office they were then forwarded to the Director General in Surabaya . A friends was all done in Bali . 2 to 3 days for Kitas renewal in Bali while mine here in S/east Java were anything up to a month . The Kitap conversion was 3 months . If the online system is handled by Jakarta office for all of Indonesia I'd expect the turn around times to increase rather than become quicker with the one office being inundated with the lot .

The only extra letter I had to provide when converting to Kitap was a letter from the Australian Consulate stating that I had notified them of my marriage even though Australia doesn't require notification of overseas marriages , as long as there conducted under the laws of the country where it took place and you have a marriage certificate is all they require to prove your married . When I returned to the office with the letter a new officer was handling the overseas/foreigner dept and told me it "wasn't required " and a copy of my Buku Nikah / Marriage book was all that was required as per the list of required documents they give you . Shows again , each office and each officer has there own rules even though the system was supposedly standardised Indonesia wide several years ago .

I think you are mistaken . As far as I know the Directorate General is only in Jakarta . In each Province's Capital Immigration has what we popularly called as "Kantor Wilayah/Regional Office" . Many years ago some processes had to be approved by 3 Immigration Offices (city's Kantor Imigrasi , province's Kantor Wilayah then Jakarta's Directorate General) . And we had to go personally to all these 3 Offices .
If the online system is handled by Jakarta office for all of Indonesia I'd expect the turn around times to increase rather than become quicker with the one office being inundated with the lot .
Well , this would happen if you maintain the employees spread all around Indonesia like they are now . In a single check/approval system , Immigration would relocate most of them to a single building (not necessarily in Jakarta) and this would require less employees as the work would be only 50% of what it is now (obviously quicker approval too) . Processes' standardization would also be easier with all these employees in one place under a single boss .

EDIT***After harassing them most of the day through the chat my Kitap and IMK are approved.

Originally applied March 7 but needed to resubmit documents so the papers weren't sent to Jakarta until March 20. Then there was the whole week and something holiday.

I was also informed there is no more physical card or stamp in the passport so I need it carry the papers with me

Just wanna check, has anyone else had issues with the auto gate at SHIA terminal 2? Every time I e tried going through since I got my Kitap it makes me go to the counter. It’s only coming in through there

🙄 You really need to read what is written in these other threads. Then you would not encounter these issues and be so surprised…

I had read through them but the posts are old and don’t cover the issue as to why it only quit working after getting Kitap. Prior to I’ve had no issue using the autogate.

Maybe I just keep getting the same machine but they let me try 4 different ones before they told me to go to the counter.

Luckily it only happens on the way in through terminal 2. One of the officers was talking about needing to register online but the sign with the qr for it was closer to the gate 🤷‍♂️
