Immigration skimkim or simkim system automatically updates Marital status and Kitap to Self Sponsorship

Just a heads up to anyone going through the process of changing Kitap details due to there spouse/wife/husband / sponsors death . The immigration skimkim or simkim system now automatically updates both your marital status to either widow or widower and your Kitap to SELF SPONSOR when you report the spouse/sponsors death . If you get told you need to nominate a new sponsor tell them to check Law/Rule PP40/2023 Pasal 160 which states that an Orang Asing /foreign resident whose spouse/sponsor dies does not have to nominate a new sponsor but gets updated to SELF SPONSOR . With the new Kitap showing your name as Penjamin/sponsor . You only require a new sponsor if you are getting divorced . I have just been through this crap due to Immigration officers at both the Jember and Banyuwangi offices not knowing about there own laws/rules . I now have to cancel my Alhi Sponsor /Change of Sponsor application , 500,000rp gone with no refund even though it was there mistake and ensure that my details in there system align with the details on my account and new Kitap so I can process any future changes myself . The new Kitap is available by opening the My Application page on your personal account then opening Stay Permit page , pressing the ITAP box to the right of the change data box on the right of the page . It automatically downloads the new Kitap to your device . Laptop /Iphone etc . No screen opens showing the Kitap on the E-Visa page , Open the download and print several copies for any future dealings with Immigration . Also insist on getting a Surat Keterangan showing you have reported the death , your new Kitap sponsor details and marital status , they are supposed to issue this when you initially report the death . You will need it and a copy of the new Kitap when changing KTP and Kartu Kelauarga details at the Dukcapil Office . My E-Visa account got locked and the new sponsor application sat for 2 weeks showing "Waiting Confirmation " due to a conflict with the 2 different sponsor details in the system .
