The American Dream is Becoming Less Probable

The American Dream has been unattainable by a lot of people for a long time. Not new news. The numbers just keep getting worse. Adult Population Rate (Homeowners-to-Population Ratio / HPOP): 53.2% of individual U.S. adults actually own and live in their own home. The difference comes from...

Small Alcohol Consumption May Cause Dementia Too

Why would MSG matter? The "research" blaming MSG for anything was debunked years ago.

I said I would never buy an EV but...

Vinfast hasn't made it that far. Not sure about all the Chinese EV's either.

I said I would never buy an EV but...

One thing I forgot to mention is that having an EV is a lot like having a PC with wheels. Some sofware updates require you to visit the dealer and wait a couple of hours for the upgrade to take place. Not fun but I guess better than changing out hardware for each upgrade.

    Time limit on Edit function

I practically never edit a post unless it just for a spelling or grammar error. I stand by what I said the first time so no need to change it. Back in the COVID days sites were changing published stories or deleting them altogether in some cases. Rubbed me the wrong way to see it happening. I...

    New Kitap ??

That it what I did. Although I never plan on actually presenting it to anyone. All I ever use is my Pink KTP and everyone seems happy with it. If Immigration is asking, then they will have either have to accept the laminated card, a picture of my passport or wait for me to physically get the...

    Students Are Learning Less Globally

Depends on the specific test and when you took it. Some test's would get you there in the 140's. 170+ is an incredible achievement. The top one percent of the top one percent. I got in during the 6th grade by literally one point. That is also about the last time I thought about it.

I said I would never buy an EV but...

So far it's been about a year and have needed a suspension part replaced and the home charger replaced both under warranty. One troubling issue that came up recently is a new Vinfast owned charging station they put in at the Lotte Grosir. It's been out of service for sometime and the security...

    Students Are Learning Less Globally

I found out the other day that since the overall global IQ is dropping and Mensa bases admission on being in the top 2 percent, people will now be accepted that would have not been accepted in the recent past. A very minor thing is the grand scheme of things but how long will this trend continue...

You May Still Get a PC With Old Price

Stack Social is legit and has great deals on software from time to time. Bought my lifetime subscription for VPN through their site many years ago. Also bought a lifetime unlimited mobile backup solution through them as well.

    Inverter AC and cleaning schedule

If they charge the same as here (~150,000 per) it's not like they get rich by telling you they need cleaning. After over a year and a half, I imagine they need some attention.

    Inverter AC and cleaning schedule

In my experience, (which means nothing to a certain member) I had a standard unit for 10 years. The outside coil was cleaned every 6 months along with the inside coil. Never had a cooling problem related to a dirty coil. Put in a new inverter system and within 4 months it isn't cooling properly...

    Inverter AC and cleaning schedule

Of course you disagree. Daikin service must not know what they are talking about.

    Inverter AC and cleaning schedule

Seeing as how the outdoor fan runs constantly on an inverter instead of turning on and off like a standard, it makes sense that an inverter unit will need to be cleaned more often since it pulls more air through the coils.

    Inverter AC and cleaning schedule

Just thoughI would make this post if anyone is considering an inverter AC. I have one AC that runs pretty much 24/7 365. It only gets turned off if I leave for a few days. It needed replacing so I decided to put in a Daikin Inverter. Everyone around me was very against getting the inverter but I...

Glamorous Governor: But looks could be deceptive

Most either get rich (or richer) from being in office and/or got into office because they were rich. At least she seems to be doing some good.

    Echo chambers and safe spaces

Has the internet got to the point that someone must be in an echo chamber? If someone has different experiences or ideas they lose their mind and become uncivil. What happened to just disagreeing and moving on? Now things get personal and people get into name calling as a reaction to differing...

    Skype alternative.

I would agree 1,000 pounds per minute or 48,000 pounds for a day just might be considered a tad high. Like real people couldn't pay high. And this is the norm there? $50 a week would be an average roaming bill in the US for light usage. But my 30 years means nothing.

    Skype alternative.

I question why you are so concerned about me. I worked in the industry for 30 years and helped negotiate roaming agreements. I speak for the US and US customers. If the EU is still charging like that then they are the crooks. You should be mad at them, not me. Maybe there was mistake in billing...
