    The drab hand of religions.

One good thing about Prabowo's reign as president, which presumably will continue for at least two terms, is that he's from a mixed religion family, celebrates Christmas, and clearly has no time at all for religious extremists disturbing society with their weird ideas. Although the economy and...

    The drab hand of religions.

Women only wear these very hot and uncomfortable clothes because they are under intense family pressure and risk of being socially shamed. Anyone who claims they do it out of their own free will, or to try and impress some kind of sky creature, is lying. I have seen with my own eyes what happens...

    The drab hand of religions.

Yes, so many Indonesian women seem to wear such drab colourless clothes, and jilbabs that don't even look clean. Looking at YouTube videos of how they used to look a few decades ago is rather sad. I saw a bunch of full burka wearing ladies playing padel recently - wasn't sure whether to laugh or...

    The drab hand of religions.

In terms of the clothing, isn't that pretty much what has happened in Indonesia as well?

Tax treatment on an E33F retirement visa

It seems like working for an Indonesian entity, even for a very short time, can have disastrous consequences for your tax position.

Indonesia set to introduce strict new law banning sex outside of marriage

Sexual abuse in religious boarding schools is the next big scandal to hit, but it will probably still take some time until people are brave enough to report it.

Indonesia set to introduce strict new law banning sex outside of marriage

Considering all the ganja they grow in Aceh, I'm thinking there should be more emphasis on people getting stoned

Indonesia set to introduce strict new law banning sex outside of marriage

Getting people to say they have witnessed a crime is very easy if they have the right incentive. It's not like they're required to provide any proper evidence like photos or something.

Indonesia set to introduce strict new law banning sex outside of marriage

So all of those countries have it in theory and many of them have it in practice as well (whether officially or unofficially).

    Music

That last video is interesting because the video is in reverse order to the song. The reason is because it was a charity video with some C list UK celebs, but they didn't all sign off on their image rights, so the original video was taken down by YouTube. Since it was quite an iconic video...

Indonesia set to introduce strict new law banning sex outside of marriage

Pretty sure that shariah law violates both, and also the pancasila

    The stick or deportation?

Except the UK state pension is paid from general taxation, there is no specific pension fund for the state pension to be paid from. It is contribution -based though.

    The stick or deportation?

The problem in the UK is they do everything on a residence basis not on a citizenship basis. So all you have to do is get yourself into the country somehow and you are treated as well as a citizen there, with all possible benefits and support you need. It is obviously an extremely rich country...

Indonesia set to introduce strict new law banning sex outside of marriage

She has been banned from reentering the country for 10 years. She's also banned from Australia Fiji and other places. She is being divorced by her husband and is shunned by most of the rest of the sex worker community. I think at some point she might get the message!

Indonesia set to introduce strict new law banning sex outside of marriage

Finally someone has volunteered to test how this law works in practice. Bonnie Blue, a 'content creator' famous for having relations with up to 1,000 people at a time, had the genius idea to try and set up a pornography business in Bali. Her 'Bangbus' has been impounded and she's looking at 15...

Redenomination: Indonesia to lop the zeroes off its rupiah ??

That article sounds like it was written by chatgtp. This reform has been talked about for decades, and it's not going to happen this decade. It may happen one day.

MERP expired - KITAP tarik advise please

I would just take it as a lesson learned and start from a kitas again. Maybe one reason they are switching to unlimited merp for everyone is to avoid situations like this happening anymore (a bit of a generous explanation, but possible)

Change visa / kitas after marriage

My wife and kids got BPJS for free. There was some program a few years ago (KIS program?) and each RT had a quota of free cards to give out, so they got them. They have never used them but I guess it could be handy one day.

Change visa / kitas after marriage

I hate to break it to you, but even when you get a KITAP and KTP-OA you will not be on the family KK, they give you a separate KK just for yourself, although you are head of the family for that one :ROFLMAO: .

    Global Citizenship Indonesia

The upside is that nobody can kick you out of the apartment. However you still have to pay a service charge monthly, which is a bit like rent and can be quite expensive.
