[Guide] ITAP / IMK: Moving to self-sponsor after spouse’s death (or divorce)
I don't think the KTP and KK are linked in any way to KITAP status. They are processed at different offices for a start (catatan sipil, not immigration). Having said that I thought they were compulsory in order to get a kitap (i.e. they are documents that you need to present) - maybe each...- Helpful Herbert

Indonesia’s closing window for a demographic dividend
There is absolutely no chance that Indonesia will take advantage of its demographic dividend. The quality of education here is so bad that it is almost unbelievable. It will make money by selling commodities and that is about it.- Helpful Herbert

There have been fuel shortages since last August, particularly Shell seems to have no fuel more often than it actually has fuel.- Helpful Herbert

Expectations re the Middle East.
And on the other side they believe the same thing. So it is basically a crisis without any possible solution. Although the muslim countries fighting each other is a new development, but as we see from Pakistan/Taliban not entirely without precedent. And who can forget the Iran/Iraq war of the...- Helpful Herbert

The future and the role of Artificial intelligence.
In this case the layoffs are because of the very poor financial performance of the company, in particular they have had to take a huge write down on their bitcoin Holdings due to the recent crash in the bitcoin price. But saying the layoffs are because of AI takes away the attention from his...- Helpful Herbert

The future and the role of Artificial intelligence.
My company has invested a huge amount in various Microsoft AI products. Unfortunately hardly anybody uses them because they just aren't very useful. We are now getting begging emails asking us if we would kindly use co-pilot (which I believe costs $30 per person for a license). Apparently one of...- Helpful Herbert

Global Citizenship Indonesia (GCI) and ways to regain Indonesian citizenship.
I don't think this is true at all. If you have a foreign citizenship than legally speaking your Indonesian citizenship no longer exists. The act of taking the foreign citizenship nullifies the Indonesian one. Same as if a double passport child gets to 21 and keeps the foreign passport then the...- Helpful Herbert

New laws- Government control
Ok I did some research. I checked pictures of the speakers at the local mosque. According to online information, this type of outdoor reflex horn speaker (TOA ZH-series, eg ZH-5025B) is the most commonly used in Indonesia and they have a rating of approximately 120Db-125Db at a distance of 1...- Helpful Herbert

Mobil Rakyat...new cars
My Kijang Innova is almost 10 years old and still worth almost what I paid for it (maybe lost 10-20%). I'd like to get a BYD M6 at some point but the current car can probably continue without any problems for 5 or 10 years, by which time hopefully the EV battery issues and second hand values...- Helpful Herbert
