BANDUNG, Indonesia (Reuters) - A spate of mysterious attacks on Islamic clerics, schools and mosques in Indonesia in recent weeks has ramped up tensions as the world’s most populous Muslim-majority country heads into provincial elections and a presidential poll next year...
..
Intelligence and Islamic officials believe that political forces are behind what they describe as a shadowy “black campaign” designed to whip up fear that Islam itself is under siege under the leadership of President Joko Widodo.

In one town near the capital, Jakarta, a mosque manager was stabbed and a religious scholar received an anonymous letter warning that 10 clerics would be killed. Videos of what police say are fake attacks on Muslim clerics and schools have also been distributed on social media, heightening a mood of unease.

This appears to be fake news, but what if it isn't as fake as it seems?

Could there be another explanation, one where rival factions in extremist groups are starting to fight for position before their great porn maker in chief is replaced, or even deciding who gets the biggest chunk of funds coming in from foreign countries that hope of destabilising Indonesia.
I assume all posters here realise a large chunk of the extremists' funds come from foreign countries, one strikingly obvious, so what do these countries want in return?
I'm guessing a string pulling job where whoever they try to get in as the puppet leader of Indonesia pays them back with fat contracts at very fair rates, or maybe close to full control of Indonesia by foreign based extremist groups for extremist religious reasons.

Whichever way turns out to be the truth, foreigners are trying to interfere in Indonesia's elections but using a set of local idiots to get them into a position of power.

You might very well think that; I couldn't possibly comment.

It strikes me you have to look at who is most likely to gain from any given set of events to have a good idea who is most likely to be pulling strings.

As a note, that doesn't just mean the obvious.
Tale a look at the 212 stores, see the owners many previous attempts at business, then ask where the cash came from to open a string of shops.
The places are a lot like Alfamart, just with more 'market' style stuff and Islamic music.
However, the rents alone must come to a fat sack of cash, so who paid up?

The porn king is a great Muslim, and his group are pushing peace and love as their ticket to power.
As we all know, that lot have never been engaged in mob violence and, with absolute Islamic principles as their motivation, they've never tried to stop a church being built then taken bribes to sod off and forget how evil churches are.
Given their past, what sort of future is in store if they gain power?

Is Prabowo behind the curtain?

No idea
